Hunt trophy whitetails in southern Iowa during the pre-rut, peak rut, and post-rut timeframe.
DATES (Can change upon request w/ availability)
These hunts are conducted in a semi-guided nature for the avid whitetail hunter. For individuals needing a more “guided” and hands-on experience, those hunt options are available upon specific request.
You will be sitting in one of our hot seats, from cedar thickets to natural pinch points, from food plots to fence lines, from staging areas to awesome timber ridges, you’ll be where you’ll have the opportunity to hunt an elusive Iowa giant.
Iowa is a “draw state” for non-resident hunters, which means that as a non-resident of Iowa, you will have to apply for your whitetail license and tags via a lottery system hosted by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. This already seems more complicated than it really is. We are here to help you with this!
Bow tags usually require 3, 4, or 5 preference points to draw successfully. You may only acquire one point per year. They do not expire. Nor are they restricted to a specific season, zone, or weapon. So, one would buy 1 x preference point per year for 4 years leaving him with 4 points. The following year, he would apply for the tag (5th year), and hopefully, he would draw. The draw is based off of the preference points, how many hunters apply, and how many points they have individually. We do have published draw odds from previous years to get an idea on what to expect in 2018.
